Friday coffee with Säljanskaka


I really enjoy cooking and baking. Sometimes there is some experimentation and new recipes are created. This is my recipe for a delicious cake with the taste of honey, coconut and chocolate.

Sales cake


For the chocolate cake:

200 grams of butter or margarine

4 eggs

4 dl sugar

3 dl wheat flour

2 dl cocoa

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 tsp vanilla sugar

2 pinches of salt

For the topping:

100 grams of butter or margarine

1.5 dl honey

1.5 dl cream

150 grams of coconut flakes

  1. Set the convection oven to 200 degrees.
  2. Baking paper in a baking pan.
  3. Make the chocolate cake.
  4. Melted butter or margarine.
  5. Beat eggs with sugar white and fluffy.
  6. Stir in the flour, cocoa, baking powder, vanilla sugar and salt.
  7. Mix in the melted butter so they become a smooth batter.
  8. Spread out in the roasting pan.
  9. Bake 10 min.
  10. Make the topping.
  11. Melted butter or margarine.
  12. Add honey, cream and coconut.
  13. Cook while stirring for 2-3 minutes.
  14. Spread the topping carefully on the semi-finished cake.
  15. Bake for another 8-10 minutes so that the topping becomes a lovely golden brown.
  16. Let cool.
  17. Cut squares and start coffee.

Note! Don't forget the salt in the cake because it brings out the chocolate flavor so well.
