Biodegradable tea lights

With beeswax tea lights, consumers can easily make a conscious choice for the environment.

Beeswax is biodegradable and has a minimal impact on our planet.

This means that the residual waste when the beeswax candle has burned out breaks down in nature. Also, beeswax has been produced by honeybees in the hive, which in turn have pollinated billions of flowers and strengthened our ecosystem.

Around 300 million tealights are sold in Sweden each year. Paraffin, which is the most common in traditional tealights, is not a biodegradable product, paraffin is a by-product from the oil industry. Paraffin candles also release a lot of carbon dioxide into the air when they burn, which contributes to the greenhouse effect. 300 million paraffin tea lights correspond to carbon dioxide emissions from 67,000 gasoline-powered passenger cars.

Good environmental choices of candles are also candles sold without a disposable aluminum container.

Beeswax is produced by honey bees and we use all surplus beeswax to make climate-smart candles. Minimal waste of resources and minimal rubbish is something Säljans Bigård works hard for. We make tea lights without an aluminum container and the idea is that consumers light the candles in a glass cup that they reuse for the next candle.

Beeswax candles are carbon dioxide neutral and they purify/ionize the indoor air when they burn.

Make a choice for our planet and choose beeswax heating candles!
